Overture for Strings

Commissioned by the Nashville Chamber Orchestra, this 5½ minute work features just strings with solo electric violin. Highly rhythmically driven, the piece is propelled by a groove in the electric violin with melodies in the strings. A middle section features rhythmically interlocking pizzicato then a return to the melodies on the solo electric violin with rhythm in all the sections and a thrilling finish.
