What an honor to interview the legendary Jean Luc Ponty as the main event of this year's Clazz International Music Festival in Arcidosso, Italy.

Jean Luc was funny, candid and articulate in an extended live discussion. While he was there, I had a chance to show him my 6-string electric and play him my solo arrangement of his tune "Mirage". Bucket list, for sure.

Archidosso is a 10th century medieval hilltop town in the middle of Tuscan wine and olive country. This is outside the main Clazz building in the newer part of the town.

But now I'm back in Nashville just in time to meet up last night with my good friend, Paul Schuyler Phillips, conductor of the Stanford Symphony Orchestra who was here for a conference.
