I'm in Tallinn, Estonia rehearsing with the amazing Estonian National Symphony Orchestra led by their truly phenomenal conductor, Olari Elts. In our first rehearsal together yesterday for John Adams'The Dharma at Big Sur, we started by running the entire 27 minute piece, (not at all an easy work,) from top to bottom--and the orchestra was deeply musical and virtually flawless in every aspect. It was really a little hard to believe my ears! The concert is this Friday evening 9:00 pm Estonia time, (1:00pm Eastern time in the US), and you can watch it live for free!
Next week my guest on the podcast is cellist, author, educator Renata Bratt. She shows us how to play chords rhythmically on cello to back-up fiddle tunes and then groove hacks James Brown's
"I Feel Good". Oh yeah!
