Exploring the limitless possibilities of what he calls “post-classical violin playing”, Tracy Silverman’s groundbreaking work with the 6-string electric violin synthesizes his eclectic background in classical, rock, jazz and world music into an evening-length performance called “Concerto for One”, a genre-bending solo tour de force of stylistic breadth and emotional depth. Utilizing electronics and live loop recording, solo arrangements of concertos written for Silverman by John Adams, Terry Riley, Nico Muhly, Kenji Bunch, and Silverman’s own 3 concertos come to full symphonic life. Expect several unique “de-rangements” of songs by Stevie Wonder, Santana, Hendrix and Bach.
