This 4 minute piece is scored for chamber orchestra and is in a brazilian song form known as choro. Choros, or chorinhos, the diminutive of choro, are typically fairly quick and witty little tunes with lots of running notes and a jazzy Brazilian style. This piece was originally written for jazz bassoonist Paul Hanson and this orchestral version with electric violin solo was premiered in Sao Paulo, Brazil with the Jazz Sinfonica in 2009. It is in the typical three short sections which repeat and includes the use of a loop pedal for the electric violin.
